Shaved

NICHOLAS TIANG SHAVED HIS HEAD YESTERDAY AFTERNOON!

Firstly, see his full head of hair:

actually, the other side of his head i s already shaved.

Profile view of a Mohawk.
I can't believe you had a Mohawk!

Check it out! The only thing missing is lots of hair gel/wax/hair spray to hold it up!

A little pony tail.

Seriously looks like he and the barber especially had lots of fun shaving his head bald!
Just look at all the styles he had.

Okay, so I suggested to him to get a crew cut...
Then he had always wanted to shave his head as well...
TA-DA, you get 3 bald guys. His 2 other friends shaved their heads as well!

My only agony is that I don't get to touch his bald head! GAHH, I can imagine how gooood it'll feel to stroke my hands on his head.

Here's a "before and after" photo I took on Skype.

Whatcha think of Nick bald?

ROFL.

Week One

Week one of uni has passed. Going back to uni wasn't as dreadful as I though it would be. It actually felt nice to be walking around on campus looking forward to meeting my friends and attending the first lectures for the semester. The gang is growing and the most we occupied was 10 seats in a row for Stats. It was the fourth lecture for the week (Stats has a crazy 6 contact hour a week. BOO) The funniest part of it is that all of us were bored and sleepy as hell! Our lecturer, Dr. Gopalan Nair speaks with a funny Indian accent was just mumbling away about Excel 2007. Some of us were sleeping already, doodling around and definitely fighting our eyes that were becoming heavier and heavier by the second.

I never realized but yes, I'll say that I've got a rather impressive lineup of lecturers for both semesters. Most of them have that "Dr." in front of their names. This semester, my Macro and Management and Organisation lecturer both wrote the textbook were using. MO lecturer is shamelessly promoting his book... Macro lecturer says he wrote the TEE Macro past year papers but not our years. He's writing this years paper tho.

My semester 2 timetable is not as nice as last semesters because I don't have a day free. Only Management Accounting all lonely on Friday making it easier if I do decide to declare a day off for myself. The up side tho is the opportunity to shop with my girls after class and that is exactly what we did yesterday. Time flew by too fast and we only covered the shops upstairs Harbor Town til it was 5.20pm and a few of us had to go home. It was overall a very good shopping trip. Same thing next week? Might skip MA since he's uber boring. hehe.

On an ending note:

p.s. I ought to blog about Mishap 4. But nevermind for now... the suspense!

Lets Talk About the Weather

Firstly, lets all welcome Nick who has decided to move into my blog. *claps*

It hailed last night and I didn't get to experience it! *pouts*
I was indoor watching the finale of Master Chef/Bones and the sound of the rain against the roof sounded suspiciously loud. It wasn't till later when Adrian came home saying that it was hailing outside! We went out when the rain subsided in hopes of seeing a hail but to no avail. :( Oh and Poh didn't win the first Masterchef Australia title. Sad, was really rooting for her to win.

It was the beginning of second semester today. Took the public transport from home to uni today since my class only starts at 2. But I went earlier to meet up with my friends. I was having a good hair day this morning so I decided to put a pump of hair serum on my tips and blowdry it place. Put on my skinny black jeans, white long sleeved top, a vest and a hoodie; I stepped out of my house and boy oh boy was the wind was so strong! There goes my effort to look decent. It was also very cold! Was waiting for the train to arrive and I was almost shivering. Suddenly it occured to me that I was sitting on a very cold metal chair.

Sigh, the beginning of uni. Books to buy and sell, unit outlines highlighting every assesment, waking up early, assignments and assesments. Yet another semester to survive...

GOOD LUCK
to my fellow uni students

The perth trip has pretty much been covered by Andrea :) It was absolutely the Best 2 weeks i've ever spent! Perth's Awesome! I wonder why most people say its boring. There's plenty of things to do and many sights to see! you just have to look properly :) Oh and the FooD in Perth is simply AWESOME!! Steak.. Seafood.. Pasta... Pork... *drools*
Plus the cold.. If i were to stay there any longer i think i would put on 10 kilos in no time! Two weeks and i've already put on 3 kilos :/

Its a Sickness

I'm a shopaholic. I have not been going out for a week now hence no shopping and something inside of me is yelling and begging to be fed! My fingers are itching. It's the only thing on my mind. That red party clutch for $15 at Rubi. That $2 body tape on sale at Cotton On Body. That 50% sale at Supre. That USD29 sexy heels from Forever 21. Ok, you HAVE to see the heels, its sexay and gorgeous! I checked, it costs USD45 to ship to Australia, bummer. Maybe I can share with friends this cost and buy a shipload of stuff! *hint hint Melissa!*

The Odette Cage Bootie

I must resist this temptation because seriously, I'm broke. I've seen this coming for months already. Haven't been getting my weekly allowance, been spending and going out, haven't started my job at McDonalds yet. Yes, HAVE NOT STARTED even though I got it a month ago. You see, I emailed my manager that I wasn't available for work while Nick was here, I emailed her after he left and she hasn't gotten back to me yet. T_T Am I fired even before I started? But my Maccas employee site is still up and it says that my employment status is 'casual'. *fingers crossed*

I am competitive. I went crazy last time playing Bejeweled on Facebook just to beat friends score and remain on the top 3. Even stayed up till 1, which I rarely do on a school night while exams was crawling closer. A few days later my high score was cleared and 'eff it, I couldn't be bothered anymore. Been playing MSN games with Nick too! Minesweeper Flags which was his forte is being challenged and won by me! It's fun to play and I'm not sick of it yet. Another addiction is Sorority Life on Facebook. I'll go on it everyday organising events and fighting to increase my level.

Sorority Life addict. Currently at Level 35.

This isn't too much of an advantage for me tho. The same competitiveness and drive doesn't apply to my studies unfortunately. hehe. Surround me with smart people and I'll probably get depressed coz I'm stupid. Uni starts on Monday. Kinda dreading it but I'm starting to get more optimistic about it somehow. Must be kiasu and aim for all that darn HD's so I can get what I want next year. Plotting it in my mind crazily, collecting more info and waiting for the right moment to execute my plan! MWAHAHA.

Hope everyone's having a pleasant weekend. Sigh, uni marks the end of my sloth behaviour. :(

Addictive

Cobra Starship feat Leighton Meester
Good Girls Go Bad

I know your type, you're daddy's little girl
Just take a bite
Let me shake up your world
Cause just one night couldn't be so wrong
I'm gonna make you lose control

Calling all Gossip Girl fans, I'm sure you'll love this!
Found it only a few days ago and I've been listening to it over and over again. Its catchy and smexyy. Leighton Meester's voice sound quite good as well. Wouldn't really expect her voice to sound like that.

Oh oh, and Gossip Girl season 3 only starts sometime in September. :) Hilary Duff has a role in it and I am personally very excited about that! You see, I've always been a fan of her's. XD If I'm not mistaken, she'll play a superstar and will be Vanessa's room mate at NYU. Can't wait!

p.s. I finally found out how to post a video on my blog post with a very simple Google search. It's simple. Here, let me teach you how to! I'm probably the last person to know how to do this but I'm too excited that I just want to share!
1. Get the embed code for the video.
2. Start a new post and click on that "Edit Html" tab.
3. Simply copy the embed code there
4. Your video is ready to go!

Take care people. :)) xoxo.

How Now Brown Cow?

I've always been blessed to be surrounded by wonderful friends; close knit ones, crazy ones, caring ones, girly ones, the fun bunch at almost every phase of my life. Sometimes I wonder how come others still remain so close to each other yet I slowly drift towards the acquaintance side of the relationship, at least in my point of view. The truth is, I know why. I've not been the best in keeping contact. I don't often sign into MSN and initiate the conversation and catch up on how things have been. At most times, I'm at lost on what to say simply because I'm too busy living in my own bubble of self pity that I zone out. I often think of myself as the uninteresting girl who has nothing smart to say. However, there's always two sides to a coin. I'm happy to say that once the conversation and bonding ball starts rolling, I just keeps going and even better, when I get the chance to meet up with them, its as if nothing has changed and we're still just as close as before. To me, those are the people you know you can count on and whom you want to keep for life.

In high school, I had wonderful english teacher. She was dedicated, stern yet approachable. I was quite close to her, constantly going to her for guidance and talking about things that the usual student-teacher won't usually be talking about. She was very supportive and constantly motivated me and assured me that I writing was the way to go for me. Back then, I wanted to study Mass Communication and major in Journalism. That dream is somewhat vanished due to the typical Asian mentality family but somewhere inside me, I still want to pursue it. I was accepted for The Stars BRATs camp in form 4 and was so sure that it would be the beginnining of writing for me but my parents objected to that due to financial situations (4 days camp in Langkawi!) and the whole idea of journalism. As time passed and I graduated high school, I met more people far more capable of writing than I am; as if that's much of a surprise. I started to think that I was in fact silly for thinking of myself as a writer! For starters, I don't have a strong grasp of vocabulary and I have not been much of a reader. I don't think I have the flair for writing beautifully articulated sentences and to tell a story so fluidly and vividly. So, there goes one dream. To be fair to myself tho, I never wanted to be a 'journalist'. No, writing a two page special in Time's was not what I had in mind. What I had in mind was writing a two page exclusive in a womens magazine. Who knows if that dream will still live on, if I'll be somewhere in that field or in the corporate world in time to come.

At present, I should start prepping myself for semester 2 of university. Aim high so it'll be easier to get what I want. Start making decisions and actions that will help my in the future and well, get on studying for my Bachelors Degree in Commerce. *yawn*

Nick's 2 Weeks Visit to Perth

note: This post is not in chronological order.

The reason why I've been a bad blogger these past weeks is simply because the boyfriend came to visit! Words can't describe how wonderful having him around is. Been up to a few interesting things while he was around. Sightseeing, outings and all. :) This is basically to summarize what we did based on the pictures we took so apologizes if I don't mention everything.

To make things a tad easier, rather than post of 50 pictures today I decided to be rajin and made some collages with Picasa 3!

Nick arrived on the morning of 30th June 2009. Along with him, came many goodies for me!

Very happy girl indeed! *grins*
And this isn't all! I got a bunch of new clothes from Cats Whiskers and an oven toaster as well.
Yes, I know that my boyfriend spoils me but I like to think that I spoil him as well.

Knowing how much this boy loves to eat (don't all men?) one of my main objectives was to make sure he gets yummy food! On the first day he was here, he said he wanted Aussie food and I was at lost on what to recommend to him. We were at Garden City Mall's food court for lunch; my sister, Adrian and I had Japanese for lunch. I suggested Red Rooster to Nick since its Aussie and he had a sandwich. Shopped around a bit then we headed home. Awaiting us at home is...

MISHAP #1
When we got home and we found ourselves unable to let ourselves in! It's a very old door knob (approx 30 years old according to a locksmith) and just before we left, Adrian had to slam the door really hard to close it, very odd. When we home tried to open the door, the door just won't open. We got locked out of the house! Can't get through the windows since its grilled and other doors are securely locked. A side door with no keyhole outside and a sliding door with 3 friggin' locks! We finally got hold of a locksmith who used a drill and hammer to break our door knob into pieces. (Sorry no pictures, was enjoying the moment too much). He let us into our house and installed a new shiny door knob for us all for the charge of $150!

That's all for the first mishap. :)

One of the yummy things in Perth that Nick just had to try was Gelare ice cream!
Brought him there and he was just so excited to see Macadamia ice cream. We've made at least 5 visits to Gelare throughout. Even specially took the bus to Carousel Mall to have some ice cream. Oh, and half priced waffles on Tuesday! Yummms. I bet you're already missing Gelare, Nick!

DAY OUT AT FREMANTLE
Sister was nice enough to bring us to Fremantle one day. We drove there with the slight guidance of the GPS. I've been bugging my sister to bring me to Fremantle since I arrived in Perth and finally, once Nick arrived, we all got to go! YAY! Freo is really nice. The quaint old buildings, market place, yachts, jetty, and how busy the streets are on a Sunday.

A slice of Freo for you

Had late lunch at Kailis Bros.
Grilled fish & chips
Traditional fish & chips
Seafood chowder
Fresh oysters
Everything was yummy except for the seafood chowder which tasted quite fishy. eek.

The bummer thing about Perth is that you have to buy sauces! Pay around $0.40 for a packet of sweet chili sauce. Rarely do they give you free sauce, even fast food restaurants! Us Malaysians are so used to free sauce and that pump sauce dispenser at McDonalds! Paying for sauce just seems absurd!

My sister when crazy with the claw machine at Timezone. She got a total of 4 Sid, 4 Manfred, 1 pink koala bear, 1 brown bear and a bowl full of candy. Don't ask how many time she played of how much it costs please...
Saw lots of pretty things in the Fremantle Market as well. Made Nick buy a bag for $1.50 as a souvenir. Oh, and we bought apples and bananas on special!

THE MAZE
The Maze is located in Bullsbrook, approx 40 minutes drive from where we live. Admission is $15 on concession. It has 3 mazes, 3 puzzle, 9 holes of mini golf, 9 holes of disc golf, large chess set, animals, cafe and nice picnic area.

our day out at The Maze

Among the few mazes that they have.

It was fun going around the mazes. Before we started exploring the area, we had our lunch first. Sandwiches! Made our own massive sandwiches with eggs, two kinds of ham, salami, cheese and sauces. Drinks and pudding too! Stuffed.

They had a koala show and wheeeee, we got to touch a soft and furry koala!

The many animals you can find at The Maze.
Yes, I was very happy to see so many fluffy animals!

MISHAP #2.
There's a large bird cage there where you can walk into it. Like a walkway along the cage, get it? Well Nick and I went in to look at the birds. I was standing behind him and he was holding a sheet of paper scaring the birds a little. Suddenly I hear a bird flying and *splat* something wet lands on me. Yes, a bird pooped on me! But luckily it only got onto my hoodie. Guess which evil bird from that picture did it! We walked out and my sister was feeding the birds when Nick pointed out which bird did it. "It's that one! I'm sure!"
SIS: So you're the one who did it! Want to do it again?
BIRD: *Nods crazily*
WTH man......... -____-

Dropped by Margret River Chocolate Factory to have a few handful of free chocolate later.

LITTLE CAESARS PIZZA
Went to this somewhat famous place for dinner after The Maze.
Ordered 4 large pizzas for 4 people. That's a equivalent of 8 large slices of pizza each. Needless to say, we ended up having pizza for snacks for the next 2 days.
The shop was very busy and service was good. Pizza was yummmmmy too! Wished I was hungrier so I could have enjoyed more fresh pizza.

On the same note where pizzas are concern; Nick and I tried out pizza from a little corner shop at Carillion, Perth City. It tasted good as well. Don't mind going there again sometime.

Oh oh, I have to mention that we had fried Mars bars and Snickers! Nick enjoyed them very much. They're basically just chocolate bars coated in batter then deep fried. Recipe for a heart attack man...

Also had to let Nick try some Utopia Bubble Tea! He had honeydew with bubbles. I had Taro with Rainbow Jelly and boy was it unpleasant tasting.

We overstuffed ourselves with buffet dinner too. First at Sizzlers then at Miss Maud. Both places of which are yummy. Sizzlers is a buffet on their salad and dessert bar while Miss Maud is a buffet itself. Sis and Nick said they enjoyed Sizzlers more. I enjoyed Miss Maud more simply because there was more variety and seafood tho some dishes were too salty.

KINGS PARK
Drove up to King's Park after pizza because just a few days ago Jikian told me about the view at night. Had to see if for myself! The view is simply spectacular and breathtaking. You see the lights of the city buildings, Perth Eye, the riverside and when you look up, the moon shining brightly and stars glimmering. Beautiful. :) Unfortunately, it was very cold at night and we didn't stay long. Probably was there for only less than 5 minutes but we captured its beauty.

PERTH ZOO
Took the public transport all the way from home to the zoo. Met up with Melissa at Esplanade Bus Port then took bus 31 (or 30) to the zoo! $17 on concession for entry. Had fun seeing all the animals but was uberly excited to see the Orang Utans! My friends and I were saying before this how we're Malaysians (supposedly famous for Orang Utans) yet we haven't seen it before! So, mission accomplished in Perth, Australia for us. LOL.

I somehow thought the Dingo was extinct but there a live one was walking around. So... it's actually the Tasmanian Tiger that's extinct! Clarified!

THE CITY
That's the place that we go most often because its most convenient and it has lots of stuff. From yummy food, shopping, Harbor Town a bus ride away, adult shops and many more. There were a few things going on for the school holidays so Nick and I attended a free circus!

Forget about paying $20 for Circus Joseph Ashton. We have Circus Soup Spectacular for free! Had to line up early to get free tickets. Only managed to get the 2pm show since the 12.30 show was full already. Oh well, bummed around to kill time. The circus was my first circus attended! A short 25 minutes show with 4 or 5 performances. Still awesome. No photography allowed so I obliged. The somewhat embarrassing part about this was that is seemed as if Nick and I were the only ones not parents to little kids! haha. Everyone other adult was probably just there to accompany their child/children. Oh wells, I enjoyed myself!

There was a friendly guy making balloons and you all know what a kid I am... I fell for it! Gave the guy $2. Only wanted to give $1 but that smart guy linked how much we gave him to the value of our love. Cheap shot. So it was $1 from Nick and $1 from me (supposedly).

The rainy Perth winter weather makes it an awesome time to catch the most magnificent rainbows! This one was glowing ever so brightly and it was huge! I think this one also had another faint rainbow by its side! Pretty! :)) Wonder if anyone found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Hmm...

DAYS AT HOME
Some days was just simply spent bumming around. Waking up at 12, staying in our pajamas and in bed the whole day eating junk food and watching 3 seasons of How I Met Your Mother. Nick fell in love with this series which is new to him and the character Barney. "This is going to be legen... wait for it... dary!"

Of course, bad things can happen at home too:

MISHAP #3
While we were monkeying around the house, Nick hurt his toe. :(

I felt really bad. Got my sister to put her nursing skills to practice to help clean up his wound while I served him hot chips and pizza. :) I bandaged it up later before going to bed.

This somewhat sums up what we did while Nicholas Tiang was in Perth. :)
I had the time of my life and I can't thank you enough for coming over to spend some time with me! Though we didn't get to do everything we wanted, every second with you around was great.
teehee :)

There is a MISHAP #4 on the last day Nick was here but I think its just too big of a mishap that it deserves a post of its own. Wait for it... wait for it...!

p.s. I just spent about 4 hours just on this post! I wonder how long it took for you to finish reading this. haha. Some feedback please. :) Oh well, not as if I've got anything better to do. Boo Hoo Hoo, semester 2 starts next week and its a horrible combo of units. Actually its just Business Stats. Good luck everyone!

xoxo,
AndreaC

I Miss You

CHICAGO- IF YOU LEAVE ME NOW
If you leave me now
You'd take away the biggest part of me

Oh oh oh no

Baby please don't go

And if you'd leave me now
You'd take away the very heart of me

Oh oh oh no

Baby please don't go
I just want you to stay

Nick just left this morning. It felt like my biggest heartache knowing that he won't be by my side for the next 5 months or so. Weak and sad as it seems, I couldn't hold my tears back everytime I think of all those magical moments we had together these 2 weeks then I think I'll be back to being alone, resume life as I know it. Seems like just yesterday I woke up at 5 anxiously waiting to go to the airport to pick him up and getting upset at Adrian and my sister when I got a text from Nick saying that his plane has arrived 15 minutes early yet we're all still at home eating Maccas in the car.

I miss you like crazy Nicholas Tiang and I really should have burned your passport and lock you up like I planned. :( It's been an awesome, magical and fun two weeks and I'll share it with you all once I pick myself up.

Waiting for you to call me soon. I know you won't be happy that I'm sad but I can't help it for now.

Everything reminds me of you now. Everything from a simple dish of pasta, Gelare ice cream, my bed, that empty spot in my room where your suitcase used to be, coins, a simple task of brushing my teeth and washing the dishes, the clothes I wear and the smell of your cologne all over my room. Not having you around feels so difficult, Nick. After all, I am your clingy koala bear. I miss you so much. I'm at lost on how to pass my days. Come back please.

Hiatus

Hello all. Apologies for the lack of updates. As most of you might know already, Nick is here in Perth for 2 short weeks and all I'm doing is hanging around him 24/7 and going sightseeing around Perth and overindulging in food. Plenty of updates once I get abandoned ok, promise.

So far, we've
- Visited Perth Zoo
- The City
- Freo for fish and chips
- Visited The Maze (mazes, mini golf & disc golf)
- Margret River Chocolate Factory

Not sure what else is there for this coming week. On a scarier note, I caused an accident... :( Was playing around with Nick in the house and caused him to smash his little toe into the wall thus flipping his toe-nail and a cut above his toe. Feel horrible... :(

Got my uni results back for the first semester and I passed everything! YAY! Soon it'll be time to stress for sem 2. :S
