Two Dollars

Okay, so I've been bored out of my mind to the point of sleeping at 2am, waking up at 12, sitting in front of my laptop watching movies and series or reading Twilight only going out of my room for toilet breaks and food(which incidentally, I eat in front of my laptop!) Gosh, glad that phase is over! After days of self lock down, I finally broke. What triggered it? The fact that all that lovely SALE everywhere will be coming to an end soon, probably this Tuesday in fact. The ongoing sale is the end of financial year sale and after about 4 years of studying accounting, I can tell you why! (C0mmon sense can tell you why as well) Its just because they want to boost sales up as much as possible to figures will look pretty when they prepare their financial report. I think I can actually go on a bit more on this topic, why this months sales/cash figure will be inaccurate, but I better stop myself NOW.

Another concious decision is that I dont mind having few blog readers. I want this blog, my blog to be my own personal space. To not worry at times that perhaps I'm telling the world too much about my mundane life. So screw trying to get Nuffnang ads campaign and screw whoring my blog out in Innit (not that either one of those is bad, who doesn't want moolah)

On the happy happy joy side of things, the brief moment of sunshine in this gloomy, rainy and stormy Perth weather, there's a circus is town! And I will bug, bug and bug my sister till we get to go! Its the Circus Joseph Ashton and they've got tiny bonsai horses! LOL. I've never been to a circus before either, so I REALLY WANT TO GO! *pouts*

Last night I intentionally went to The City of Perth website to check out if shops open on Sundays and to my surprise, they DO! So I went on a little shopping trip today and got some great bargains! Public transports on weekends are a real bitch because the buses and trains dont run so often. Walked around the very quiet city first only to find Diva closed. bummer. Promotion now is 3 items for $10 so I don't plan on missing out. I think this promotion has been around for a couple of week but I only just found out! Oh, and I walked from Harbor Town to the train station (approx 10-15 minutes walk) just because I don't see the point of waiting half an hour for the Yellow Cat! Evil as I am, I was laughing inside as I was walking and it started raining and I saw people scrambling for cover of bracing the rain. TeeHee. Carrying a large umbrella is so unglam and troublesome ok! Please dont attempt to use those cute folding umbrellas in this weather because the wind gets pretty strong.

In relation to today, I shall share with you what you can get for $2!

You can get this pretty candle set for just two dollars! Bought it from one of those discount stores. :)

You can get this stringy necklace for just two dollars!
There were plenty more earrings for two dollars as well.

But best of all...

You can get a swim suit!
Mix and Match from Cotton On Body.
Black tankini top. The discounted price was $10...
Pink bikini bottom (didn't have black) for $2.
Imagine my delighted surprise when the cashier said "that'll be $4 please"

and for $2 x 10 I finally got the shoes that I've been eyeing for a long time now!
Look at 'em cute in pink and with hearts! hehehehe.
They're comfy too!

Can't wait to get out of my rut and finally do some things fun and explore Perth! Probably will drop by Diva tomorrow just because I'm kia-su.

take care people.
Happy holidays!

Buffy Meets Twilight

Okay, I stumbled upon an absolutely hilarious video on Perezhilton.com just now and its too good, too funny, sheer genius (or am I too easily amused) video.
Since I'm technologically challenged, I'm not sure how to post the video on my blog, so here's the link on youtube.

Its basically a hilarious short clip of scenes from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Twilight. Go watch, you wont regret it, trust me or I'll give you 5 bucks!

p.s. Forgive this Twilight craze, I'm sure it'll pass. *sheepish grin*

Disconnected

Hello world!

Yes, I'm still alive and well despite how I feel. I feel disconnected from the world I tell you. Since after I got home from the sleepover, I'm on lockdown at home and I my activities are limited to watching movies/series, reading Twilight and sleeping in. I finished Twilight in 2 days, not bad I say for a person who does not read. Slept around 2 or 3 am and woke up only after 12pm.

Finished watching the second half of Gossip Girl season 2, OMFGWTH, I absolutely cant wait for season 3. It was in fact very satisfying finale to season 2! I couldn't help but squeal and go "OMG, OMG" while watching. As if that's not enough, expect me to read Twilight in my room reading it word by word slowly as I imagine how hot and sexy Edward Cullen is as he and Bella have their explosive chemistry going on! I'm a newly converted fan. Can't wait to get my hands on the other 2 books now!

Courtesy of Tanya.
Should have borrowed all four! *kicks self*

Can't wait to sink myself into this.
The movie trailer itself looks so cool! Hope reading the book doesn't make the movie look bad. :/

Okay, withing the past 2 or 3 days, I've watched
* Ramen Girl (7/10)
* Underworld (9.5/10)
* Atlantis: The Lost Empire (8/10)
* Forgetting Sarah Marshal (7.5/10)
*Penelope (6/10)
* Sex and the City (8/10)

I've still got Match Point and Yes Man waiting to be watched. Was surprised to see Reese Witherspoon and Russell Brand in Penelope tho!
Ah, Tansformers 2, The Engagement and Ghost of Girlfriends Past is on my "want to watch" list!

* * * * *

Okay, as for some insight on what Sabrina, Amanda, Tanya, Isabel, Josephine and myself did during our sleepover...

Camwhored to mock all those lala kawaii girl out there.

We even raided Tanya's closet to put together our best lala getup!

Watched movies

Lots and lots of junk food

Played with her 'puppy', Joey.

and whatver else I said on the last post. Hope no one kills me for posting these embarrassing photos up. But hey, the real killers are safe on my pc. ;)

Time for me to wake up and smell the flowers/coffee/morning sun and stop this slot way of living. :/

Hope you're all enjoying the holidays, one semster done, 5 more to go! (for the most of us that is) ;) Gosh, cant believe how grown up we all are, although I dont feel grown up at all. Almost everyone I know is already approaching their last year of being a teenager. Seems like just yesterday those crazy hormones kicked in but look at us now...

Coming down a sore throat now, keep forcing myself to hydrate hydarte and have some Strepsils. Must-not-fall-sick! I hate falling sick... :/ A lot of people are coming down with the winter cold now, brrr...

* Stayed in the same room the entire time.

Window Shopping

Went out with the girls today! Much fun, except for the weather. It was all gloomy and rainy the entire day. Not to mention windy! It sent us shivering like a leaf whenever the wind blew.

Shopping nuts for today were:
Melissa, Sabrina, Amanda and myself.

The two crazy shopaholics Melissa and I swore that it'll only be window shopping for the both of us because honestly, we've been pushing our budget limits. (have a look at both our blogs and you are bound to find the words "Diva", "sale", "bought" and pictures in it)

Firstly, I got my camera fixed along a quaint little lane called London Court for $5. My not so well treated Lumix DMC-FX3 had a missing screw causing its casing to be lose. I promise to treat you better as you have served me well!

Sila lawat laman web dia untuk baca 'blog' dia.
OMG, epic fail I am.

Melissa and I were in the city around 11 so we walked around, window shopped and shamelessly camwhored in the city. This is my favourite shot for the day:

Slightly candid and fun.
Edited the shadows and saturation a little bit as well as straightened it using Picasa 3.
Imagine seeing two girls sitting on a bench along the street staring and grinning at a plant box. Think they're crazy? LOL. Placed the camera on the plant box on self timer to take this photo.

Continued wondering around shops until Amanda and Sabrina finally arrived and then, Harbor Town, here we come! shoppingggggg!

As usual, I was hungry so I had to eat a bar of Uncle Toby's muesli bar first before lunch since everyone else wasn't hungry. GAAR, why do I get hungry so easily.

Lunch time finally came and we ate at a Japanese restaurant called Shimizu at Harbor Town.

My beef terriaki bento set for $11.50.
yumms. You can't go wrong with me and Japanese food.

Too a break from shopping for more camwhoring! YAY!

Most of the pictures are with Melissa and I believe we took LOTS, especially with the continuous shot. Mel and I the original OTT ones even managed to convince Amanda and Sabrina to take crazy photos (read: Jumping up holding an umbrella hehe)

Can't wait to see it all up on Facebook soon! wait for it, wait for it...

Another time out with the girls planned for tomorrow. Sleepover + movie night! THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE, baby!

p.s. Someone who is supposed to only window shop today did something that she isn't supposed to do! You know who you are and you know what you did! Shame on you! *coughs Melissa*

p.s.s. Can't wait to start our much anticipated online project! Glo-bal I tell you.

Good Morning

It's cold! I've got one day to study, memorise and understand Organisational Behaviour! Exams is tomorrow at 9am for 3 hours! I'm screwed...

Heading over to uni soon to have my final chance of studying. I never felt this helpless for an exam. Everything I read just doesn't go in! AHHH, common sense! Common sense! Common sense given a fancy name called theory all wrapped up in something called Organisational Behaviour! calm down....

the dreadful text book

Hoping for a credit pass now or at least a credit pass. :S

Sunday Afternoon

Woke up around late 11am, had something to eat for lunch and been bumming in my room using the internet.

Probably will stay in my pajamas the whole day today. Done it before a few times. Oh what have I become, my mum can have a good nag about this if she found out.
Why do you wake up so late! You know I've easily done 10 more productive things than you while you were asleep!
AND
Look at your room! Its so messy! You call yourself a girl! There's no point dressing up nicely when your room looks like that!

its just so warm and comfy that I dont want to get out of it. :)

Time to banish myself from Facebook, open Windows Media Player and listen to the 81 Gossip Girl songs that I downloaded yesterday and glue my nose to the good old OB text book!

Wish me luck! Last finals paper is on Wednesday. Organisational Behaviour. After that, freedom! Need to go job hunting again. Damn McDonalds don't even have the courtesy to at least email that I didn't get the job (well after attending an interview last 2 weeks ago, I haven't heard from them).

Gotta Love It

I've been getting my internet fix by connecting to some unsuspecting neighbours unprotected wireless. Some days its ok connection (signal strength: Very Low or Low) but it's still alright for me to Facebook, check my mail and blog. But today I'm being naughty and decided to download Gossip Girl music from isohunt! The dowload speed is shocking! Back home with TMnet, the highest I ever went was 50kB/s but now with this not so awesome signal strenght wireless, its going at...

it say's:
Signal Strength: 33%
Down Speed: 51.3kB/s
Heck, it even went up to 100kB/s!

Sorry, jakun has never experienced such fast download before.
Always have been stealing neighbours line since I got here. XD

Hope this doesn't use too much of their bandwidth if not they'll smell something fishy and decide to password protect it. NOOOOOO, then I'll have no more internet. :( Hope and pray this doesn't end badly. But for now, can't wait to enjoy some new music!

200th

Hello people!
Congrats to you because you are now reading my 200th post! (I think. Have a few drafts lying around)

Lately I've been feeling like dressing up for no reason, looking chic no matter the occasion. So My thoughts are to have the basic chic pieces in my wardrobe. Okay never mind that thought. I went shopping again on Wednesday! LOLs.

Got a few bargains!

Like this Cotton On high waist skirt for $10.
Got a size 8 because thats the smallest I could find. Its a tad loose.
Sheesh, I need to stop buying ill fitting clothes! Can't wait to get back home and send my clothes to the aunties to get it altered.
I really like the button down concept and the golden buttons!

I finally found cotton tights that are not a total rip off. (Razza Matazz wool tights at Coles for $17)
Good deal at Forever New (sounds like a rip off of Forever 21)
2 for $20! It was $17 each. Grab 'em while they're still there!

Cotton tights from Forever New

I still have that want to lose weight. I'm going to sound like such a dumb girl but... "I read in a magazine that..." Megan Fox only eats once a day and she admits she's unhealthy. She put on 7kg for her role on Transformers 2! WTF, I now have a girl crush on Megan Fox and damn she's h.o.t!

She's somehow being compared to Angelina Jolie as well. And she thinks she's unfeminine and looks like a man. *shoots self*

Mischa Barton also went on a crazy 'liquid only' diet. She now looks like a skeleton

Next on my list is to get something animal print! I blame you, Melissa for the influence!
Dress from Valley Girl

and some sexy heels and ankle boots ;)

this is Steve Madden's I-Bravoo
A girl can dream

toodles,
AndreaC

update: Another totally hot and feminine one is none other than Dita Von Teese.

Her infamous Martini glass burlesque performance and that 16 inch waist. HOT DAMN.
And really, she's not a slut, in fact she's very classy.

Queen of Fruits

Ok, for those of you who didn't know this already, the Queen of Fruits is no other than the Purple Mangosteen! (and the King of Fruits is the Durian)

The mangosteen is a tropical fruit. Beware when you eat it not to let the skin come into contact with your clothes if not *tada* you're left with a lovely permanent stain. Another interesting fact is that you see the nice flower pattern on the bottom of the fruit? It actually shows you how many wedges of fruit is in it. It's yummy too! haha.

WIKIPIDEA EXTRA: The mangosteen is commonly known as "The Queen of fruits" in parts of southeast Asia, notably Singapore and Malaysia. It is believed to have "cooling" properties that counteract the "heatiness" of durians, the so-called "King of fruits". The fact that the fruiting seasons of these two fruits coincide makes these titles particularly apt.

Remember back in KL or anywhere else for that matter, there'll be road side stalls set up selling fruits whenever the season arrives? Sometimes the mangosteen are sold in a nice tied up bunch too! I'm not sure how much mangosteen costs per kg because dad is the one who buys fruits and comes home with 2 bags full or a carton. -___-" (from his friend in Petaling Street or from wholesalers in Selayang)

So a few days ago I made a new friend who works at Coles and was telling us how Coles is selling Mangosteen for $1+ EACH.

Seeing is believing.
Went to Coles yesterday with my sister and I saw Mangosteen!
WTF, $1.95 EACH! FOR ONE!

I probably could get more than 1kg of Mangosteen back in KL with ($1.95 x 2.9) that amount!
Pooh, but this is Perth. They probably had to inccur storage, shipping, etc cost. But seriously? Who would buy this ridiculously priced fruit? Cannot bluff Asians okay!

Mangosteen at Coles

My trolley containing some newly purchased items and my bag was almost taken away by some guy while I was taking this picture. haha. He was distracted looking at me taking this picture that he just took my trolley. He soon realized what happened and apologized. I only realized what happened after he apologized and my sister told me what happened. I was confused as to why the trolley was suddenly not infront of me. XD

p.s. Another fruit that I think is overpriced is the Avocado. Maybe I just think so because I have an Avocado tree outside my house that produces an abundant amout of fruits when its in season...

Carl's Jr.

For the longest time ever, I've been telling myself to post these pictures up on my blog and today, I finally am!

Carl's Jr. is a little chain fast food restaurant in KL (Mid Valley, Sunway Pyramid or anywhere else). It's quite pricy for 'fast food' but its burgers are massive and super yumms!
Behold a monster sized burger!

AND

behold a monster burger!

*dum dum dum*

My special Paint skills put to the test! XD

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
That's enough madness for today!

TTFN,
AndreaC

p.s. Say YES if you think I'm blogging too often! haha. Can't help it, its the sign of exam season
- Sudden Facebook and internet addiction
- Sudden urge to do mindless Facebook quizzes
- Sudden urge to blog
- Sudden urge to watch TV and movies

- Basically anything else that is NOT studying.
Agree with me?

Quant exam tomorrow. I foresee the HD slipping away each minute I spend not studying. haha. *touch wood!*

What Exams?

Current Temperature: 15°C
But I swear its much colder than that!

Being a good girl today and am staying home surfing the net studying for my Accounting exam which is tomorrow at 9am! The text book is open on the same page for the past 15 minutes or so as I start blankly at it. sigh. I blame the cold weather.

Also, I'm feeling very unglam and unfashionable right now. I'm all snugly in whatever comfy warm clothing I have in my closet. :) Oh well, not as if I'm out in public or as if I'm some sorta high profile fashionista, so I can get away with wearing..
THIS at home! hehehe.

Still not feeling warm enough. :(

On another topic now, of anything that can drive a girl insane and all excited, the best one is the word "SALE"

aren't you all excited now

Well to be fair, you can always find a few bargains at Diva but now its 3 or 4 racks full!
Was in the city on Friday on the way to uni for group study but I got sidetracked.

It was funny because Tanya texted and asked if I was in uni yet and I told her that I was shopping first. She then asked me to get shopping off my brain but I was still to excited because of shopping then she called me insane... :(

Anywaysss, its practically sale everywhere because its the end of financial year sale or as us Malaysians will be more familiar with, mid year sale! Can't wait till after exams (as if exams is stopping me now) to shop with the girls!

OMG, I sound so bimbotic. XD

Look, look! I got these from Diva.

Mini chandelier earrings for my sister

A ring.
I'm not really a ring person but heck, one can learn!

and
A necklace. I got it because I thought it's very vintage inspired.
All $5 each ok! Steal!

I'm seriously starting to agree with Tanya that I'm insane...

Back to studying Accounting!
I don't want to end up failing this exams. :S
Studyyyy...

Finals

The fact that I'm having final exams now is making me feel as if its November already. Don't blame me; 12 years of the same education structure can do this to a person. Sigh, cant believe one semester is already over with, time flies. Yikes, second semester is coming and that means fees are due and more books to buy. Probably will trade books with friends or something. XD

Am currently in the Public Library. Free internet and conducive studying environment (: (lalalala, yet I'm BLOGGING) Supposed to be studying Microeconomics now. Exams start this Saturday. Yeps, that's right, exams on a weekend! Lovely aye? It amazing how crowded libraries are these days. Guess lots of people are having their exams soon as well. haha. Good luck to everyone out there who is sitting for exams soon!
You know what, strange as this sounds, I think I now prefer doing assignments as opposed to be studying for a big exam. At least assignments are more specific, there's that dreadful deadline that just drives you nuts doing your best to finish up the assignment. ahh... I need a job.

Cannot wait till semester break comes!

The Morning Show

Last year, every Monday-Thursday morning was mainly spent commuting between Cheras and Sunway. Kit Mun, Teik Chi, myself, initially Pao, then Sin Yin and Kok Chun we're the passengers in the car, of course Teik Chi was the driver. Kit Mun and I drove half way ONE time each.

The morning jam was always accompanied by Hitz.fm's Morning Show. There was always a hilarious Gotcha Call and the same old same old playlist for weeks. I vividly remeber always listening to the same songs everyday almost in the same order. The songs were:

Fergie- Clumsy
Maroon 5- Wont go home without you

One Republic- Apologise

Buckcherry- Sorry

That long commute was always fun because it's always accompanied by crazy conversations, plots of find a 'hot mama', drilling daddy for some explanations, fighting to be his 'favourite' daughter (I'm actually your favourite, right right right?) , nap time and lots of other random things. Oh oh, and as a treat, we'd stop by McDonalds for a little snack or the Wednesday pasar malam at Connaught (I only went once with them tho)

McDonalds! :D Sorry about the blurry photo.

whacky people bullying the driver

Remember that time that the car got towed away? OR how about the time he banged the red MyVi at the toll gate and ran away. classics... just thinking of days and memories like this puts a smile on my face and I can say, I lived life a tad crazy.

stressed?

remember this? ;)
seriously crazy one hour!

on special days where I get the back seat to myself. I fully utilize the space. hehe

sigh, I miss the crazy.closeknit.warmandfuzzy.fun.immature days of AUSMAT

Lets create a time machine and teleport ourselves back to those days?

Revamped

Hi ALL!

I have finally found a blog template that I like!
Hope you all like the new look of my blog :)
Its more elegant, simple yet girly, very me. ;)

What do you think of the new look?

Will work on a new header for my blog after my finals. The old one was too big to fit into this.

Oh oh, and I'm getting sick of "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows" but I cant seem to think of anything else to name my blog. Creative long-term-block. Got any suggestions for me? :)

I've got my template from

They've got very nice and user friendly templates there. Have fun!

Hope to get your feedback! Let me know if you spot any malfunction.
BTW, does anybody know how to set links from my blog to open in a new tab as opposed to loading in the same tab? help please.
See you soon!
